Today I would like to share a message from one of my clients.
Her feedback on physical activity and mental health is priceless to me, and frankly, I felt really touched when I received this unexpected letter. We don't train together anymore, as she needed to relocate to a different country, but I do hope she is well, and getting stronger each day. Both mentally and physically.
Dear Marta,
I just wanted to say thank you for being a big reason for me to return to the gym. Truthfully, having been at the gym for training sessions & running 5km is a huge motivation for me to "gym and run" for life.
I have a secret. In the months of June 2017 to September 2017, I was in sessions with a therapist. She diagnosed me with anxiety and "leading into depression", wanted to put me on medication as per the advice of the psychiatrist. It was a whirlwind for me and my parents. I did not continue with it.
January 2018, my parents dragged me to the gym every week. Then, I got to train with you and found myself more confident and happy. If the study you were coming out was about whether gyming/running psychologically alleviates anxiety, stressed, etc - I give this 10/10 on a truth scale.
I am so thankful for all I've learned at the gym with you. The importance of physicality and how it influences your mood and vice versa. The importance of my body. I can't wait to utilize my knowledge here onwards and join more mini-marathons until the big one. I think you're a superhero of sorts. Your kindness, care & purpose has done me very well. <3
I hope you continue on this path because if you saved me from "leading into depression", I think so many other people can benefit from your craft. It is definitely beyond weights and treadmills to me, it's a kind of self-healing process. (& you get to look quite hot too).
Thank you. I have high respect and admiration for you. I wish you all the best with your goals. GO MARTA!!!
See you, when I see you.
All the love, and best wishes, Anonymous
